The Nevada National Guard Child and Youth Program, with the invaluable support of the Armed Forces Chamber, Henderson Vet Center, Req Therapy BBQ for Mental Health and other community partners, brought the holiday spirit to life with their annual “Lunch with Santa” event. This heartwarming gathering, held on Saturday, 14 December 2024 at the North Las Vegas Readiness Center for the families of Nevada National Guard members, served as a joyful reminder of the strong community that stands behind those who serve.

With over 600 children registered, the event was nothing short of magical. From festive decorations to engaging activities, the venue was transformed into a winter wonderland. Children enjoyed games and crafts, creating memories that will last long after the holiday season. The highlight, of course, was the chance to meet Santa Claus himself. Laughter and excitement filled the air as families posed for photos with Santa, capturing priceless moments of joy and connection.

The generosity of the Armed Forces Chamber and community partners played a pivotal role in the event’s success. Volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure the day ran smoothly, serving delicious food and beverages to families as they enjoyed the festive atmosphere. The support of these organizations underscores the commitment of the Nevada community to its National Guard families, recognizing the sacrifices they make year-round.

“Lunch with Santa” is more than a celebration; it is a testament to the strength and resilience of the National Guard community. It offers children a chance to experience the magic of the holidays while reinforcing the importance of unity and support for military families.

As the event concluded, smiles and laughter lingered, marking the day as a true holiday highlight. The Nevada National Guard Child and Youth Program and its partners have once again demonstrated the power of coming together to honor and uplift those who serve.
