At the December 17, 2024, Nye County Board of Commissioners meeting, Commissioner Frank Carbone was honored for his years of dedicated service to the county and his unwavering support for the armed forces community. Andre’ Haynes, founder and CEO of the Armed Forces Chamber, alongside JP Edwards, presented Carbone with a commemorative plaque recognizing his contributions to Nye County and the military community.

Carbone, who decided not to seek re-election in 2024, is retiring after years of leadership and advocacy as a Nye County Commissioner. His tenure has been marked by tireless efforts to improve the lives of residents and champion the needs of active-duty military members, veterans, and their families.

In addition to his work as a commissioner, Carbone himself has a distinguished history of military service, bringing a unique perspective and sense of duty to his role in public office. Under his leadership, Nye County has seen enhanced support for veterans and significant strides toward recognizing the sacrifices of military service members.

Andre’ Haynes praised Carbone’s impact, saying, “Frank Carbone has set the standard for public service with integrity, compassion, and a deep commitment to the armed forces community. His legacy of leadership and support will leave a lasting impact not only on Nye County but on the lives of countless veterans and service members.”

The plaque presented to Carbone serves as a symbol of appreciation for his dedication, both as a veteran and as a community leader who consistently prioritized the needs of military families. The Armed Forces Chamber felt it fitting to honor Carbone’s service publicly during his final weeks as commissioner.

Throughout his career, Carbone advocated for initiatives that improved infrastructure, expanded access to healthcare, and fostered economic development in Nye County. His leadership helped create policies that benefited the region’s veterans, ensuring they received the support, resources, and recognition they deserve.

JP Edwards, who assisted in presenting the award, spoke about Carbone’s unwavering commitment: “Commissioner Carbone has been a steadfast ally to the military community. His dedication and leadership have touched many lives, and his presence on the board will be greatly missed.”

As Frank Carbone steps into retirement, his legacy as a champion for the armed forces and the residents of Nye County is firmly cemented. While he may be leaving public office, the respect and admiration he has earned from his peers and community will undoubtedly endure.

The Nye County Board of Commissioners and the Armed Forces Chamber thanked Carbone for his exemplary service and wished him the best in his well-deserved retirement.
